Source Control Providers

IDX provides integration with all major Source Control systems

IDX uses the same Source Control API (SCC) as Microsoft Visual Studio and is able to integrate with all major Source Control vendors.

The list below provides links to some of the Source Control providers that are compatible with IDX:

The CVS proxy is a plugin that provides seamless access to the CVS source control system. The PushOK proxy provides the best integration with the CVS SCM system.

Jalindi Igloo (CVS) (Freeware)DownloadDownload (646KB)
Jalindi Igloo is a plugin that allows you to connect IDX directly to a CVS repository. The program is completely free and can be used to connect directly to a CVS repository.

Microsoft Visual SourceSafe (Commerial)
IDX natively integrates with Microsoft's Visual SourceSafe. Visual SourceSafe is a version control system product that delivers restore point and parallel collaboration capabilities, thus allowing application development organizations to work on several versions of software simultaneously.

The Perforce SCM System features comprehensive software configuration management capabilities built around a scalable client/server architecture. IDX natively integrates with the Perforce Source Control system.

Rational ClearCase (Commercial)
IBM Rational ClearCase provides software asset management (SAM) for medium- to large-size teams. ClearCase is a program for software configuration management and version control of all types of files & directories.

Subversion is meant to be a better CVS, so it has most of CVS's features. Generally, Subversion's interface to a particular feature is similar to CVS's, except where there's a compelling reason to do otherwise. The goal of the Subversion project is to build a version control system that is a compelling replacement for CVS in the open source community.
